Vancouver's most popular haunted spots part 2: The Old Spaghetti Factor

Blog by Ray Estrella | November 1st, 2022

The Old Spaghetti Factory on Water Street has a long history, even before its doors opened in 1970. Previously, it was the home of a grocery wholsaler since the building was built in 1912, and known as the Malkin Building.

The ghost tales from the Old Spaghetti Factory talk about 4 ghosts that are popularly seen including a young boy who runs playfully from one part of the restaurant to another, a little girl looking for her mother, a ghost with bright red hair that likes to play pranks as well as a ghost thats dressed like a train conductor.

In 1969, while they were building the restaurant, an old decomissioned trolley car was installed inside the restaurant, so theories of the ghost coming with the trolley car was very likely.
Nobody really knows the origin of the young boy and the red haired pranker, but the theories of the little girl dates back to the old days of the Malkin building, as it was a popular work place for women and the nature of work consisted of unsafe working conditions on a production line.
