So this is a real discussion i had with clients the other day. If you want to be buying a property during the holidays, especially an older condo, the biggest ally you can have this the way you manage your time.  

There will be some decent properties available in front of you, but with the disctractions of our holiday functions, this can effect the way you do your do diligence. 
Typically speaking, a subject removal is about 7 days, plus any extra days to account for holidays.  Ideally you want to be reviewing your strata documents in the first 3 days before your mortgage gets approved....however with christmas parties, the holidays, family time ,or even work, this can be something that people have a tendency to rush through to make everything work in their schedule 

Then you also booking a building inspection, which you have to make a available around your schedule, the inspector's schedule, and possibly the seller's schedule.  

So, im not saying that this is a bad time to buy a property, but there are things in both your personal life and your real estate transaction that will require your full attention.
